Prescription drug abuse topic of talks
More than 150 physicians from north Mississippi and the Memphis area gathered in Oxford on March 27 for the MPHP Prescribers Summit: Controlled Substances Update.
Oxford Treatment Center sponsored
The Continuing Medical Education event, in collaboration with the Mississippi Professionals Health Program and the Mississippi State Medical Association. Chief Medical Officer Tom Fowlkes, MD, was among five speakers presenting on topics of safe prescribing, as the medical community works to curb the epidemic of prescription-drug abuse through prescriber education.
On April 21, Fowlkes continued a series of community Lunch & Learn talks on the topic of prescription-drug abuse with a visit to Corinth. Click here for The Daily Corinthian’s coverage of the event: Page 1 – Page 2.
