Olive Branch Outpatient Hosts Open House

Peaceful in-town setting offers privacy for IOP

The event is set for Friday, April 22, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Community members are invited to tour the facility, meet the staff, and enjoy a free catered barbecue lunch from Corky’s.

“The Olive Branch office is a hidden gem in the greater Memphis area,” said Tony Faulkner, treatment consultant with American Addiction Centers. “We’re excited for a chance to spread awareness about this unique local resource for people struggling with substance abuse.”

The Olive Branch Outpatient Office is home to an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). The 10-week program includes group therapy sessions, individual sessions with a therapist, and medical management by in-house psychiatrists for co-occurring disorders like depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder.

The IOP group meets on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 6. On Tuesday evenings at 6, the office hosts Aftercare for recent alumni and the Family Hope & Healing support group. The latter is a free therapist-led outreach for anyone who has a loved one in addiction or recovery.

The Olive Branch Outpatient Office is located in the middle of town, at the crossroads of Goodman Avenue and Old Highway 78. Yet its setting provides privacy, with its rear parking and entry overlooking a quiet greenspace beneath the shade of oak trees.

“Our IOP experience is the opposite of institutional,” Faulkner said. “This is a place where you can come for help and feel at home. The groups are small, and the setting is intimate. When addiction has left you hopeless in life, this is exactly the kind of place where you want to get better.”

Depending on how acute one’s addiction is, IOP can serve either as a follow-up to our residential treatment program in Mississippi or as a stand-alone program. People who live in DeSoto County or the greater Memphis area can undergo residential treatment at any of AAC’s facilities around the country, then transition smoothly into follow-up care closer to home.

Outpatient treatment can be a stand-alone solution for those who are still able to maintain a job and want to continue working while going to treatment. Oxford Treatment Center therapists can help determine which treatment path is the best fit for an individual. In either case, the IOP connects directly with local AA/NA meetings and provides two years of weekly Aftercare sessions to support lifelong recovery.

In Olive Branch, the IOP is led by Clinical Therapist Chip Peterson, M.Ed., NCC, CADC. The Family Hope & Healing support group is led by Clinical Therapist Aramy Denley, MS, LPC.

Faulkner is the Memphis area’s Regional Treatment Consultant through Oxford Treatment Center’s parent company, American Addiction Centers.
