Mark Kelly has been a pastor for 40 years, spending 27 of those years as a Student Pastor/Associate Pastor and then moving to Worship Pastor/Associate pastor. He has walked through life’s joys and struggles with families for all those years as a pastor but felt he didn’t have the tools needed to dig beyond the “spiritual” truths and guide people with the clinical side of healing from hurts and hang-ups.
In August 2020, Mark resigned from the church he had been at for 19 years and started his master’s program in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling. He graduated in May 2023 and started working at Oxford Treatment Center. Mark is currently working toward getting the hours needed to be licensed in the state of Mississippi.
Mark counts it a joy to walk with those who are in addiction and help them find a better way to navigate life. He offers Christian counseling for those who request it and spiritual guidance for any patients who request it. Mark also leads a church service on Sunday nights, special Christian holiday services, and morning prayer time.
“I am passionate about seeing the light come back on in someone’s eyes where there was once only darkness. I want to meet people where they are, not where I think they should be, and help them get to a place they never thought they could go.”
