Jeffrey D. Rapp has an MA in experimental psychology and a Master’s in social work. He has been a licensed social worker since 2008. His first area of interest was mental health and psychopathology, and he completed a research study on trauma, anger, and alcohol.
After working at a psychiatric hospital while interning with an addiction treatment group for homeless men, Mr. Rapp spent many years as a drug and alcohol counselor. He worked at an inpatient rehab and various outpatient programs, providing group and individual therapy to people who often had severe addiction combined with trauma or psychological issues. Following this, Mr. Rapp continued his focus on mental health as a telephonic consultant for and employee assistance program, at times providing immediate support for callers in crisis.
As a contributor for American Addiction Centers, Mr. Rapp appreciates the opportunity to speak to a wider audience and to communicate the truth about drugs and alcohol as he understands it.
