Brendarius Kirkwood, PCAT serves as a Counselor and the Alumni Coordinator at Oxford Treatment Center, where he supports patients and graduates in maintaining connection, accountability, and continued growth in recovery. Having worked within Oxford’s residential substance use treatment program for the last year, Brendarius brings both clinical experience and genuine passion to his work.

Brendarius, who started as an intern, has led therapeutic group sessions focused on emotional awareness, self-esteem, communication skills, and relapse prevention. He’s facilitated art therapy and processing groups and developed structured lessons on stages of change, gratitude, healthy boundaries, active listening, and overcoming fear-based thinking. His work has also included treatment planning support, clinical documentation, and program development, ensuring care aligned with professional and ethical standards.

Brendarius fosters a safe, structured, and engaging environment where individuals feel empowered to take ownership of their recovery journey. He integrates motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and strengths-based interventions to help individuals build confidence, resilience, and long-term stability.

He holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Sports and Recreation Management, as well as a Master of Science in Recreation Therapy. As a Provisional Certified Addiction Therapist (PCAT), Brendarius continues to strengthen his clinical foundation in addiction counseling and evidence-based practices.

As a dedicated member of the Oxford Treatment Center team, Brendarius remains committed to helping individuals not only complete treatment, but stay connected and thrive in recovery long after they leave campus.
