Barry serves as the Patient Experience Coordinator at Oxford Treatment Center, bringing more than 20 years of experience in substance use disorder treatment to his role. As an Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor-I (ICADC-I) and Certified Peer Support Specialist Professional (CPSSP), he uses motivational interviewing to empower patients and believes that each person already has the answers they need within themselves.
Barry is passionate about helping people create meaningful, lasting change through compassionate, person-centered care. He strives to foster an environment where every individual feels seen, supported, and free from judgment while navigating their recovery journey.
In addition to working directly with patients, Barry serves as a Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Instructor, training staff in de-escalation techniques and effective responses to moments of crisis. His commitment to recovery extends beyond his professional role. He has maintained his own personal recovery since January 24, 2006, an experience that continues to shape his empathy and dedication to helping others.
